Hi there! This is my twelfth year teaching at Winthrop High School, and I am the English Department's Lead Teacher. This year, like most, I will be teaching sophomores, seniors, and AP Literature and Composition. My love for literature started when I was a little girl reading books like the Harry Potter series, and, as I grew up, I learned to appreciate the more complex texts that come with age. My exposure to literary greats such as Austen, Baldwin, Morrison, Faulkner, and Woolf only furthered my admiration for storytelling, ultimately pushing me to obtain a dual Master’s degree in Creative Writing and Modern Literature from the University of Leicester in the UK. The goal in any English class is to help students improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills; all of which, I believe, to be crucial in any career. I want your students to feel successful in their education, and I look forward to helping them achieve their academic goals.
