ELA
The learners in my class have been reading informational texts. The students have been determining the main idea of an informational text and explaining how it is supported by key details. By referring to details and examples in the text students are able to draw inferences. Drawing from specific information in the text, they are able to explain the main concepts.
My students have writing to communicate ideas and information clearly. They have been working on the development and the organization appropriate to
producing informative/explanatory texts. The students are responsible for strengthening their writing by planning, revising, editing, and rewriting.
Math
Students are applying the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
