  • Ryan Coleman 

    I am a Visual Arts instructor at Winthrop High School, and I am now in my fourth year of teaching in the Winthrop School District. My approach as an Art Educator is to immerse students in both traditional and contemporary art-making processes, aiming to enhance their skills in critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and visual communication.

    Beyond the classroom, I serve as the advisor for Winthrop High School’s Art Club, where I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive arts community. I am passionate about expanding and enriching the Arts program at WHS, providing diverse and meaningful artistic experiences for all students.

    Originally from New York, I have spent the past 13 years in Boston and the North Shore, working with students at all levels of artistic development. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Education from Boston University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from SUNY Purchase in New York. As both an artist and an educator, my goal is to cultivate visual literacy and creative thinking in young minds, helping them find their voice and express their unique perspectives. I am excited to continue contributing to the growth and evolution of the Arts at WHS.
