About Me:

Hello everyone!  My name is Laura Sarris and this is my fourth year working in the Winthrop Middle School in the ASD/PDD classroom.  I have loved becoming part of the Winthrop community and I enjoy coming to work each day to see each of my students!

Education:

I grew up in Northborough, MA and graduated from Algonquin Regional High School.  I went on to attend UMass Amherst where I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Education.  After college I began working at a residential school for individuals with autism where I simultaneously attended classes through Simmons College to receive my M.S. Ed. with a license in Severe Special Needs.

Interests:

In my free time during the summer I enjoy spending my time in Cape Cod at the beach - I love being in or near the water!  I love attending Boston sports games with my friends, I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family and love a good reality TV show!  I enjoy travelling and am always looking for new places to visit!
