    Dear Families,

Welcome to First Grade! This is an exciting year when students explore academic and social skills to help them develop into curious thinkers and learners.  In Room 232, we have the unique opportunity to teach and learn in the Inclusion Classroom. This means that we have resources and support to engage our students’ diverse learning styles. Ms. Conway, the general education teacher, and Ms. Francis, the special education teacher, collaborate to provide varied teaching methods and learning opportunities. We are also fortunate to have Mrs. Simpson, the ESP, in our classroom.

Throughout the year, we encourage you to reach out to us as needed to establish a productive, working relationship. Emails and letters in the Home/School folder are the most efficient ways to communicate. You can also find information on this website and in weekly newsletters. You must provide your email address to receive the newsletters. It is important to engage your child in conversation about school. Here are some helpful questions:

“What was the most important thing that you learned today?”
“What questions did you ask today?”
“What is the best thing that happened at school today?”

Our classroom family shares all supplies. To help our class run smoothly, we always appreciate the following donations:

    • pencils
    • crayons
    • markers
    • glue sticks
    • antibacterial wipes
    • tissues
    • paper towels
    • gallon size zip-lock bags

We are grateful to work with your student each day.

    Sincerely,
